MIAMI -- A judge has suppressed what could have been crucial evidence against two suspects in the kidnapping, rape and murder of a South Florida teenager.
Joel Lebron and Jesus Roman are two of four people accused of the 2002 crime that left Ana Maria Angel dead and her boyfriend badly injured.
A judge has now granted defense motions to suppress Lebron's alleged confession and statements made by Roman. According to the order, the suspects were not properly advised of their Miranda rights.
There is no word on whether prosecutors plan to appeal.
